Duotrope’s Digest for prompts
Have you been pondering what new and exciting could you write (while procrastinating on your WIP that has stalled a bit)? Well, I hope you haven’t, but I have.
So I found an excellent site for instant prompts in all genres, all styles imaginable. It’s an upcoming deadline tracker from Duotrope’s Digest. Funny, serious, queer or plain mad. And if you’re good (and willing), you’ll get published, too.
Most of these are non-paying or token-paying markets, so make your choice. I think that it’s an excellent start for people who are not published yet and are willing to see their words in print/on screen. Besides, some of these magazines seem to be very cool. E.g. I think I could try whip up something for “The crossed genres” (right now they’re looking for SF/F crossed with literature with a child/teenager as a protagonist).
Of course, I could be working on something I’m actually working on… yea sure.
